SW OH | I bought a new farm king about 6 years ago replacing a Lund. For the first 2 years I cussed it more than the Lund. I’ve learned a lot about how to make the farm king work. I’ve also made several modifications that helped a lot. Just before I bought mine I watched a well used McHale bring $6,500 more at an auction than my new farm king.
There are a few things that easily get bent on a farm king. Mainly the trip mechanism for the catch and cut. The table has a lock pin to stop table rotation. If it is not locked when loading and dumping, things will get bent.
My baler makes 4X5 bales but for the wrapper I set the baler for 54”. It wouldn’t lift a bale the weighed more than 1,000#, one of my modifications. My 62” bales weigh up to 2,300#. I wiped 235 bales in 2 weekends in May with the help of my wife, son, and brother. There was still some heated moments.
