Subject: RE: Using a dart gun to treat pinkeye?

Just had this discussion with my vet over dinner this weekend. He told me the reason LA-200 and LA-300 still work on cattle is because the susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria hasn't mutated for pink eye. However, he feels using a dart gun should use Draxxin or generic brand Macrosyn. I've personally used LA-200 and LA-300 for foot rot and pinkeye in dart gun. However, because it takes more cc's to treat with, I would go with the Tulathromycin injection. We keep dart gun kit in trucks we check cattle water with. Only pack Macrosyn in kit, hits a wide range of problems with less dosage. My opinion if you're going to pack a broad-spectrum drug with you, take a Tulathromycin.
