I can't help but feel your pain. Microsoft sure made a mess of this change/update from Windows Mail to this 365 crap. I lost our contacts list somewhere and had to move the contacts over from my backup Gmail site. I don't like how email is laid out in 365, but I have not figured out how to improve it.
Just a PITA that did not need to happen.
