Subject: RE: Tar spot spray timing

My experience and opinion only:

A few years ago, I was following “normal” recommendations—spraying fungicide at black silk. Tar spot came in late— after the 30 day estimated coverage period. I knew it, but didn’t think much about it, figuring it was late. It was no fund watching the yield monitor go to 0 in spots in the field when the stalk dropped flat.

After that, I realized that you want sprayed before you get infected and you are buying time. Hence, 2 passes with Mirivous Neo (sp) 35-40 days apart. 1st with a high boy and 2nd with a drone.

Might be overkill, but the combine operator can go to church on Sunday.
