East Central Arkansas | Thanks Vincent. Even though I try and put different crops in different areas each year the area I use for the garden is just shy of a 1/2 acre area and gets worked every year so every thing gets spread over the whole area. When we get the flooding rains, which we have had our share of the last several years, water can back up on the lower half of area so that doesn't help either. I also have different cantaloupe varieties than I have been raising so maybe something there. Trying to irrigate other areas that needed water I also was getting the older cantaloupe and watermelon areas wet when they didn't need that amount of water. | |
