Actually, there are plans to go back. Stay tuned.
Our astronauts left a set of prisms on the moon. Shine a laser at the moon and these prisms will reflect it back. (Measuring the round-trip time gives an accurate distance to the moon.) Don't know how the deniers explain this away, but I'm sure they have an explanation that makes sense to them.
