NC IL I80@68 | 69 4020 on had a 12 qt pan versus 8 qt on the 4010 and 20;s through 68 , at the time I had a 68 , with the m&w 8 blade fan & the finned 20qt pan at 125hp it ran 200 deg minimun , we had those 5 ring M&W pistons that fit soo tight I think I scored 4 in before 2000hrs . Deere didn't have the newer 3 ring piston with the keystone top ring in those days . That's the piston your 71 had from the factory Deere didn't offer that rebuild kit back then . I traded that 4020 for a 4630 in 1973 . No matter what they say there is no way to ,keep a 4020 turboed cool at 125hp unless your fall plowing on a 25 degree windy day !! | |
