Cool and saturated ground does that. Canola makes a very nice seedbed for the following year that’s comparable to sunflowers.

Might have some drill issues maybe? Stand should look much better. I no tilled all the soys into standing stalks at 140k with a twin row planter and the stand is much fuller looking then yours.
