Subject: RE: ?Upgrade for Win 7 ??

Leesburg, Ohio
Just upgraded our main office computer, and our shop computer, from Win7 to Win11. Office machine is a 2009, shop machine a bit newer. They were both custom-built office computers built by local techs...not big name brands, but decent quality machines and components.
We were running in to a few things that would no longer run on win7...Adobe was one...some ham radio software I wanted to try would not load on 7.
Local tech that did it said these are still good solid machines that are absolutely worth upgrading, so we put in new SSD drives as well.
We missed the opportunity for the free upgrade from win7 to win10, so we had to buy new licenses for both machines.
He said not worth it to just go to win10, because we would have to do it again in a year or two, so went straight to 11.
We were running on piecemeal Office software, and decided to buy Office 365, to have full access to all the Office apps (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc...).
Also replaced old keyboard and mouse with new wireless ones, and added a camera for zoom meetings. Might get a bigger monitor eventually, for my old eyes.

Depends on your machine and how it was equipped. If it is 64 bit with a decent amount of memory, you are probably good for an upgrade.
