Malta, Illinois | Great post. I wholeheartedly believe that we all need to advocate for ourselves and do what is best for us. I applaud John for finding a way to deal with his long time diabetes that eliminates the need for medications that cause other issues. If there are any long term affects from his lifestyle remain to be seen but he is absolutely improving his quality of life now and keeping diabetes at bay. With all of that said I find it disturbing the lack of trust that people are developing in modern medicine. I understand that the medical community made many mistakes with the whole Covid fiasco. Guys that are drawn towards skepticism and conspiracy are using that as an excuse to not trust their doctors about anything. It is one thing if you are dealing with diabetes or other less serious issues. When cancer or even the threat of cancer presents itself you do not have time to be watching YouTube videos and looking for off the wall solutions to your problem. One needs to be informed and educated but you also have to put a large amount of trust in your doctors. Second and third opinions are an excellent idea if there is time. I just think that people are putting way too much trust in things they watch and read on the internet and not near enough trust in their own doctors. | |
