Rough 25 years ago buddy and I were headed out ice fishing his dad goes you know boys you’d be better off going to the bar buying a fish dinner and a couple drinks than sitting out on the ice for hours hoping to catch something. Who knows might even find a woman. We both looked at him like he was a complete moron. Now I realize he was right. I worked a 3-3 schedule then and when had good ice averaged being on the ice daily sometimes. Sometimes I’d go pike spearing during the morning and early afternoon come home clean fish do chores and drive 45 miles to go smelt fish for half the night. Last 10 plus years if make it out of very other winter I’m doing good. |
