From experience
Cooling matters dryer set warmer not that much (I would not run dryer hotter than 190 degrees)
Harvesting matters get your machine and especially the head set right— header auger so it doesn’t scuffle the ears

Do not cool till corn has set hot for at least 24 hours cool slowly with a smaller fan transfer to another bin to eliminate moisture that will run down the bin walls

Has worked for us —20% stress cracks at times is easy some years just not
