| Allopurionol...........I had gout at an early age, was started on the mentioned medication, then very few attacks, if there was, then was hit with indocin, and was better in a matter of hours.
BUT...as of late, first was told gilberts disease, then said NAFLD.....an mri showed a liver mass, the university hospital said it was cancer and was getting ready to do a liver resection, and then put on the transplant list.....finally, the transplant surgen demanded a biopsy, guess what, it was a granuloma....so I started to research, guess what alopurniol can cause....granduloma of the liver !!! so I stopped taking it myself, and next scan 6 mo later, showed it was gone....but since other things not done, have advanced cirrhosis......so a word to the wise on alopurionol........but colchicine is no better...has shown to be a nasty drug....plus years ago we used it in the lab, would soak seeds in, and would alter the dna of the seeds, we were trying to induce mutients for plant gentics purposes.
