| usually when mri is needed, you are asked this specific question. They can kind of "pulse" so to speak to see if any metal detected. In some cases, it will need to be removed, or perhaps the mri machine will remove it for you !...Saw a video once on how a folding chair was in the room with mri, switched it on, it went flying, and they could not pull it off the machine untill the scanner was switched off. Ask your local people that run the mri machine for guidence.
