NEMO | 2.7!!! Wow. Will you be cutting those Labor Day? Do you normally plant that short of a season?
20 years ago we use to plant a 3.3 so we could get wheat in early. The last couple years the shortest has been a 3.4 with most being 3.7 to 4.2 maturity. A 2.7 would sure help to spread harvest out if it wouldn't suffer on yield.
Personally I would cut the NIS from the application and probably go after the worst acres. You will hurt yield some, maybe 3 to 5 bushel, depending on weather the rest of the season. Leave a check strip or 2 so you will know for next time.
Good luck. | |
