Western Ontario | Same here, mostly heavy clay, we have a worn out JD 843 head and try to keep the head as high as possible, no we’re not combining at 6mph. The less residue we put on the ground the better we are for drying out and warming up. Combine duals straddle the rows. We are putting 2 rows of beans between 2 corn rows when we no till. We do no fall tillage and and I actually feel the longer the stalks are left the less stubble damage to tires. We have a high humidity environment and the confetti from a chopping corn head can leave a gooey slimy mess underneath. | |
