Subject: RE: No till guys in the Northern corn belt

east central WI
been no tilling into standing stalks for many years. this year no tilled beans in corn stalks and cover crop. also did a test, VT stalks last fall just enough to throw a little dirt then no tilled beans this spring.
my biggest problem is when i have high yielding corn. the residue can be bad for no tilling beans. i tried some bio stuff to break down stalk and residue, it made no difference.
One thing about no tilling, ground takes a little longer to warm up.
