Subject: RE: No till guys in the Northern corn belt

While I'm not in the corn belt I am up in Ontario on fairly heavy clay. I notill my beans into cornstalks but I don't have a chopping head and think having the stalks chopped for notill would be quite detrimental. I'm not sure how you'd ever get my ground dry enough to plant with a mat of trash all on the ground. I plant two rows of beans between every set of corn rows and that works great with the stalks standing. If your working your cornstalks in any way I'd say a chopping head would be a benefit but for notill I vote leave them standing
