Here,lots of commercial fishermen have torn shoulder muscles.Caused by the sudden movement of the boat ,,years of abuse ,etc when hauling.They get the surgeries done and wait out the time off ,4 -6 months ish,and go back at it.I think you will be fine after the repairs heal.
