sand washes away easier than dirt, and tires get stuck in sand easier than dirt.  A lot of farmers around here will go to menards this time of year and buy a pallet of lava rock bags.  4x4x8' high pallet.  very light weight, you can throw 3-6 bags or more on an ATV and lay them inside a pivot track and never worry about that spot again. Dont need to cut the bag open.  This works especially good if you have a pivot track that runs down hill and washes out what you fill it with.
