| For the Corn Belt as a whole, the summer of 2010 was very warm...and very wet
Summer temperatures averaged 2.3°F above normal, tying it with 1921 and 1931 as the 8th hottest summer on record (in a record set going back to 1895). It was low temperatures that were especially warm...3.4°F above normal (warmest ON RECORD).
Summer rainfall ran 4.90" above normal, making it the SECOND WETTEST summer on record (behind...you guessed it...1993).
