Malta, Illinois | I can somewhat relate Indy. While I am still a work in progress I have long since accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. It occurred to me when I was in my 30's or 40's that I had become entirely too comfortable using the Lord's name in vain. I didn't think of it that way and really did not give it the thought it deserved. I was standing with a group of friends one evening and that word was getting tossed around very freely. I had recently been greatly blessed by the Lord and it occurred to be that I really didn't need to use that word or phrase anymore. First off it is a sin and second why would a person curse the Lord that has blessed them in so many ways? I committed to never using that word again. I will admit that I have slipped a handful of times in 30 some years but I confess my sin and resolve to never do it again. It has been a while and I hope I am over that. I freely admit that I use other curse words too frequently and have endeavored to cut back on that as well. As I said, I am a work in progress. | |
