This is by far our families' favorite casserole. If you have a heart condition, just take an extra Plavix.


1/2 lb. elbow macaroni
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion
1 stick of butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 small can of tomato paste
3 eggs, beaten
2 cups hot milk
1 cup grated cheese of choice




Cook the macaroni in boiling, salted water until just tender (follow directions on the package). Saute meat and onion in a pot with butter until browned. Sprinkle with the cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Add tomato paste. Stir and Simmer until slightly thickened. SLOWLY add hot milk to beaten eggs. Combine macaroni, meat mixture, and egg/milk mixture in the pot. Pour half of the mixture into a lightly greased 11"x7" pan, sprinkle half of the cheese, then the remaining mixture and sprinkle the remaining cheese. Bake at 325 degrees F for 30 min. You might have to adjust the amount of ingredients accordingly for a 13"x9" pan.
