I think your ratio is acceptable. Power hop comes from a slip differential between front and rear. You did things to increase the slip on the front (took off weights and duals), and it made it worse. Now you need to work on increasing slip on the rear. I assume some weight needs to come off. 81-8200 had enough chassis weight to hold their power normally. The larger models benefit from more weight. I’m only about 77% sure I’m giving you the correct information.
I believe this is the likely answer.
Front wheels should be pulling harder than the rear. (leading) Whenever rear wheels are pushing the front wheels, you get power hop.
