Get a pump up sprayer and spray it with water and then scrap with a wide putty knife. If it's just joint compound it should come off easily. Getting it set takes the dust away from this job. This is how we removed it from drywall in my daughter's house. Note: I would try in a small area first to see if it's going to work.
............. please read what the OP has said more than once. He has PLASTER not spray texture.
