Western Oregon | I pulled 6-16" 2450 with a 4430, 7-16" with a 4630. 2450 on-land plows, tractors were weighted heavy with cast duals and front wheel assist, that we never took off. I went to 5-18" 1450 plow with 4240's and could get more plowed in a day than the 6 bottom on-land. The 1450 were set up just right and pulled easy. Concave cushion coulters really made them cover well. Radial tires, 2 sets of rear weights, no ballast. We ran clamp on 18.4x38 duals so easy to remove, sometimes we ran the left dual. I liked in furrow plows because they put weight on rear of tractor. On-land needed a heavy tractor in the fall to get enough traction after the ground got wet all the way down. All our field tractors were front wheel assist....James | |
