I don't know about Deere tanks but I haven't had any luck trying to repair the tanks on a CIH planter. I would have to go to the shop to see what rod I used but it was one that was recommended for a wide variety of plastics. I also used the ss screen wire for added support Then used fiberglass & cloth to cover the weld area. I think the biggest issue is the tanks swell so much when they are pressurized.
