![](http://www.newagtalk.com/mapdots/johnburns.jpg) Pittsburg, Kansas | I had a Steiger rim one time that cracked just below the bead and let the air out of the tire. Thought I would need a new rim. Talked to tire guy and he said it happened all the time. He came out, broke the bead on the rim to get the rubber away from the rim a ways, welded the rim up. Worked till I sold the tractor and was working when the new guy drove it home. Didn't take the tire off the rim but did break it down enough to get the bead rubber wedged away from the weld area.
