I am trying to calibrate the steering on a MFWD. Had geosteer before. It worked last year. Traded it in for new steer command Z2 & 7500 but they didn't offer them to steer with an addon trimble valve. So I got the Z2 for CAN steering to replace the old steer command on a factory valve tractor.
I moved the old steer command to this tractor using the geosteers wire plug that plugs into the valve block. The steering, kick out, and wheel angle sensor work.
But during calibration it says left and right steering rates too different to continue. one side less than 50% of the other side. Left 14.6 o/s , right 40.8 o/s and an error code 255.
Dealer could not find anything about code 255.
Agleader support says 255 a problem with valve or hoses. Hoses look good. Switched coils side to side it didn't change anything. Tried different options of valves & profiles in monitor, updated software didn't help.
Using the monitor to check hyd. valve. Using hard turn it turns lock to lock left 3sec. the right 2 sec. Setting the valve to 50%. While making a left circle right never turns the wheels out of the circle, while making a right circle left slowly turns the wheels out of the circle. At 65% they both work maybe right is slower than left.
We use this tractor for side dressing corn.
Any suggestion on what to try next?
What do I need to check in the valve?
Thanks
A. Who told you that you couldn't steer a Trimble valve with Z2? I have 2 of them on Dad's farm, Trimble Valve, Z2 steer beautifully.
B. Whenever I have seen a 255 code on an AGCO product with CAN steering, I reflash the factory valve software...if that doesn't work, I replace the valve.
What tractor do you have?
