No those clamps on the hex shaft are just monitoring if the shafts are turning or not. The speed sensor is a weird sprocket that runs beside the small contact drive wheel.
To add a new sensor on a kpmii you need to follow the manual. ie unplug everything and relearn the sensors. You can plug a sensor in anywhere on the main loom, it does not matter where.
