Quick survey is fine if you don't need repeatability. 

You want the absolute/permanent base or survey for strip till, boundary stuff, guidance or auto path off boundaries, exact apply going through waterways, etc.
Things you need to be repeatable year after year. 

If you just pull into the field and make lines on the fly then you don't even need RTK really. But if you have it, it's handy and easy
