Subject: Farm Hand Wages

Hampton, Iowa
Does anyone have any input on what a farm hand should be paid. I want to do what is best for my family. I work for a large grain and cattle operation. I am not trying to pry but I need to make some family decisions. My dream is to someday farm myself. I would really like to farm with the guys I work for but not sure how that would work out. They are really great guys and I don't ever want to leave them. I realize that I have all my information and should be able to make this decision on my own. I am just wondering how many pay advances are really available for a farm hand? I have about 3 new licenses since I started with these guys (manure application, pesticide app,and CDL) I am real excited about the Precision ag part of my job and am getting pretty good at it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. No thoughts I would understand. Thanks
