Wisconsin | Farming is not an innovative business, tech companies lose money for years, making a profit can not be the goal if you want to break into a cutting edge business, Amazon lost money for years. I used to repeat that Toyota lost however many thousands on each prius, and maybe they did, but they didn't care, it turned out to be a technology that stuck around so far, and probably paid off their investment many times over by now.
Before your post, Jim reminded me of a Sunday in the 80's, a line of Model Ts headed up the Mt Hosmer entrance, by far the steepest part, about twenty went up the hill, then the line slowed, stopped, and about a dozen creeped down backwards. I either don't remember or didn't see the whole thing to know if any of them made it, or if some made a second attempt with more room to get around if somebody stalled. | |
