Latimer, Iowa (north central) | If you have ever stood under a turbine in the wind, listened to them roar and creak, flash shadows in you windows, or seen them fling ice 1000 feet you will not build anything close to one. The blade tips spin at something like 180 mph in a strong wind. The turbine maintenance employees are restricted from going within 1/4 mile of a turbine anytime there is lighting with 20 miles or any signs of ice buildup. They certainly restrict your ability to use your own property whether the greedy politicians have passed zoning laws or not. They should be zoned industrial and treated like the factories they are.
