Subject: RE: Storing DDG in a bin

Northwest Iowa
We go to the ethanol plant with our hopper bottom and get 24 ton at a time and put it in feed bins. Use a rigid 6 inch auger to fill feed wagon. We fill the bins with a grain auger and slide it under the trailer. Unload the DDGs out of hopper trailer asap. They can be tough to get out at times so the sooner the better. Biggest take away is a 18 ton bin, 9 foot by 4 ring tall feed bin will only hold 12 ton of DDGs. They are light and fluffy. I have to tap on the bins sometimes to get it started but not bad at all.
