NW ILLINOIS | Over the years several makes / models of mowers have
come into our (son's) shop with the above problem.
Most always the problem was solved by placing a relay
close to the starters solenoid.
The key switch then only pull the relay in, instead of
key switch pulling in the starters solenoid.
Bigger HP motors have a starter the has a engage
solenoid built onto the starter.
The relays N. O. contacts goes on the wire that attaches
to the starter engage terminal (small wire). You can pick up
the batter voltage right at the starter also.
My wife's Simplicity Conquest needs it done now.
Hope I'm not too confusing.
I'll find a picture of how it's done and post.
