Farmington, Mo | We sprayed ours last year with our drone for the first time and had acceptable results. I was able to see streaks on the field at maturity from less than even application…darker brown streaks due to not getting enough coverage of solution…we used Miravis Ace at 2 gallon per acre.
I believe this to be our fault due to running in less than desirable conditions…probably too breezy and running too wide of a swath. They say you can run up to a 30’ swath with a T40 but we have found that 20-25’ swath provides better coverage on the edges of the swath.
To get the better coverage on the 30’ swath, the flight altitude needs to be higher towards 15’ and that seemed to be harder to keep the solution on target.
Despite these issues, we had excellent wheat…best ever on quality and yield so we will be running the drone for headscab fungicide again this year.
