E ND | Some responses here seem to be voting "no" on a shouse with livestock attached. The way I read it the OP is just asking about adding a shop on to the same building as the livestock building to save on some infrastructure costs and the house would be separate but on the same site.
Bottom line would be to consider what actual savings there would be in construction by combining the buildings - one footing/shared wall, maybe some plumbing and electrical but probably not as much as you're thinking vs. a shared feed from well and utility tee'd off to both buildings as appropriate.
Probably not worth the risk for most operations. Even adding some separation, a concrete driveway, or some kind of fire break would probably be better and still have some construction savings in sitework and concrete prep. | |
