I would have no hesitation about doing that with a dairy freestall barn. If built correctly, there simply isn't anything to burn on the cow side of the building. There also would be near-zero risk of rodents with the right freestall barn design.
I would drag my feet a little more with bedded pack, but would probably still be willing to go the conjoined route.
Small freestall about 30-40 miles from here had a tractor and mixer parked in it family wne intot eat supper and passer-by stopped said smoke in the barn. something started on fire, maybe tractor, never really heard for sure if they know. vapor barrier burned most of the cows died . few that did not I believe were shipped, lungs shot and from what a cattle trucker told me you can hardly tell there was even a fire there. |
