Ft. Ripley MN
I’m a cheap person… but In my opinion they should be separated… I’m a single guy. I would like to build a shouse in the future. Our shop is outside… i would like a place indoors to park feed equipment and be able to overhaul equipment.

If I had to take a guess your climate is a lot easier to be warm then us. One of our barns has a part that’s partitioned off and only insulated. It doesn’t freeze in winter time. To bring an animal into the shop would be a worst case scenario and then in that case bring them into the house. Have brought several calves into the house bathtub to keep them from freezing.

Just my opinion. Build your house/shop… but keep your animal facilities separate unless it’s an emergency
