Holly Hill, SC | That is not a coulter. It is my double disk opener that apllies the 2x2 fertilizer. One face of the two disks (side away from the seed trench) I weld (4) 1/4" rods to give the blade traction in the soft dirt. Helps keep the pair turning. Row 1 runs on the left side of the seed trench while the other 9 are on the right. That is why you only see the rods on one row. Big improvement. Also leave the inside scrapers of the the planter disk openers to reduce the added resistance to turning. Haven't missed them. | |
