Subject: RE: Allis Chalmers 7000 brakes

The 7000 used the same cab and hoods, sheet metal, as the rest of the larger 7000 series tractors. It was the chassis, drive train, that was different from the rest. The drive train was similar to the 190-200. Dry brakes, bull gear final drives, and the maroon tractors used a dry clutch. They did have a third speed range in the power director, whereas the 190-200 only had a two speed. They also had a true live PTO since there was no neutral between the power director speed ranges. Those tractors had a park lock in the transmission instead of a brake lock. You should be able to set the brakes up a bit, unless they are entirely worn out .
