E.Central MN | They can have a valid reason for adding acres some years. For example, a couple years ago I read that farmers in states such as Kentucky planted more acres of winter wheat and then double cropped soybeans. That resulted in more acres than was normally planted there. I would think the extremely late and wet harvest would result in less acres being double cropped next year, but that's just a guess. The abnormal harvest is bound to throw a few kinks into next years mix of crops being seeded. | |
