Subject: Old John Deere dealership truck restored

North central ND
This has been dad and mine’s shop project this winter. It’s a 79 Pete 359 bought new by our local dealer 12 miles away out of Fargo back when they hauled their own equipment from Moline. It has a Detroit 8v92 and 13 speed, was originally white but it had a berry frame and pulled a John Deere green step deck with grain sides cause it would haul wheat to Minneapolis on its way to pick up equipment at the factory. They wanted to get the frame painted green to match but never got done before they got rid of it. A couple different guys around here bought it after that and hauled grain locally but then it got sold to a landscaping company and they painted it all red and used it like that for a while, before parting it out, taking the tanks and transmission out of it before dad found it otherwise it was going to the scrap pile. After getting it we put the tranny back in, took the sleeper off and fixed it up a little and used it like that for a few years before deciding to get it redone. We wanted to make it look like it did in the 80s except with the John Deere green frame and some other little things, I think we got it close to that. It has a new buckskin 359 interior with green stitching to kind of match Deere equipment, the original interior is in near perfect shape but it’s oxblood color. It’s not done yet, still needs a few things like different back fenders, lights and mud flaps but it’s nice to finally see it out of the shop and able to take it for a spin. Also if you notice on top of the sleeper, it has a pete logo formed into the roof cap, they only did that at the factory for six months because it was taking to long to do. Painted by Alan’s paint and body in Corsica sd.
Thought some of you might enjoy this
