Subject: RE: Case IH Sprayer Steering Valve ?

Southern Illinois
Closed center.
The caseIH sprayers except for the old 3200s, all have closed center systems. With this Case also set the pressure compensators to run at full high pressure standby at all times. The steering runs on this. It's also why if you apply the foot brake the machine stops instantly even with 1200 gal loaded in the tank.
Originally I think it was set to 2750psi but I remember some reason to turn it up to 2850psi.

If the raven valve has a number ending in 056 that's an older valve block. The later ones were 066. If you are experiencing problems, try manually activating the left and right turn. If one is faster than the other then one of the threaded orafice inserts likely came loose. When this happens it usually destroys the threads and means the valve block is no longer usable. If it just started you may be able to get the plug back in the threads. Somewhere I had a drawing I made of the internal plumbing.
