NW Ohio | Thought the planting intentions report came out at the end of March, not the beginning. Anyway, I'm not so sure anymore about the accuracy of the USDA reports. In 2007 and 2008 they "found" 3-4 million more acres planted to crops. I believe this was done strictly to keep prices from going crazy. Then in 2009, they seem to have left those acres off. I'm really not so sure those "ghost" acres have ever existed. | |
