Ha, “either way” corn is definitely the leading cause in Nebraska. It is also the most subsidized “corn, soybean, wheat” all annuals if the government actually cares to fix this then subsidize perennials. Maybe start with areas that have 200ppm wells. 300lbs is all relative to yield the bottom line is the weather is responsible for about 95% of leaching in Nebraska. I don’t care if a guy applied100lbs total if you only produce 80 bushel you lost N. A lot 5%om ground around if you apply 150lbs N and yield 200 bushel but leached the 200lbs the soil made available are you not just as guilty. The growing of corn is not conducive with less than 3ppm ground water they want to see.
