I'm gonna support your comment a bit. The fuel consumption will likely be pretty grim if your using the power. I looked up specs on bourgault drills this morning. A 100 foot drill weighs 75000 lbs and a 1300 bushel cart weighs 50 500 lbs empty so add at least 75000 for the 9rx 830 and your at 200 000lbs of iron just to put some seeds and fertilizer in the ground. Then add 1300 bushels of fertilizer and seed. The issue with always going bigger is that the implement has to be much stronger and therefore heavier to handle being 100 feet wide rather than say 60 feet. At some point it will get unsustainable to go bigger just because of the fact that the weight to productivity ratio gets worse as you go bigger. Now will people buy these tractors and large drills? I certainly expect so. I'm some operations they just want the biggest and don't care about economics and in some operations the ability to get the acres covered in a day that these rigs can will outweigh the negatives and probably be the most economical.
