South east Saskatchewan | Out here in the prairies yellow pea bids have dropped down to the $5.00 / bu range (8.3 cents). It is simply not enough to encourage farmers to grow. What I think is going to happen is that alot of pea acres are going to be switched to red or green lentils. Reds have been as high as .385 cents until the past couple of weeks and new crop is bid at .23 cents with act of god. As long as old crop keeps moving and brings stocks down prices should hold. | |
