Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Like I said earlier, it appears that something else is connected to the negative battery post. The negative battery post should only have one cable going to it which goes to the battery disconnect. Monitor or other controllers ground should be connected to the output side of the switch. That way when the switch is turned OFF, absolutely noting gets a return ground path. Actually electricity flows from the negative to the positive anyway but we think in terms of conventional current.
Granted the planter monitor may not draw the battery down much but it should still be beyond the switch. I run all my add on grounds to the central ground bolt on the tractor. That bolt goes to the battery disconnect switch and then to the negative terminal(s) of the battery. |
